Born to parents unknown, she was adopted at infancy to a wonderful young couple who couldn't have children of their own, but as she got older, she couldn't help but notice that she looked very little like them. Life was pretty average well into her teens, she avoided the brunt of high school drama by just not falling into the social hierarchy. Playing sports like softball and soccer to playing games like dungeons and dragons, she did what she wanted with whomever she wanted, but had the kind of personality and looks that people just accepted it. When she got into computers, it started out as curiosity but quickly turned into obsession, taking them apart and putting them back together, delving into the software like an explorer on safari. Computers just spoke to her and she listened intently. Then there was hacking, it came so easily to her that she did it all the time, mainly the computers at school just to mess with the teachers or change grades to help a friend or hurt someone who rubbed her the wrong way. It wasn't until she started poking into things for the fun of it and had the FBI show up on her doorstep that she truly realized her passion for it.
Right after high school she found herself at MIT, working towards a masters in computer science but that didn't go exactly as planned. Though she did earn her bachelors, she fell into a group of people that focused on the underbelly of what you could do with just a computer, mainly.... stealing and selling information. Deciding to forgo the masters, she left MIT, along with one of her friends and moved to L.A. Her parents where so proud of her for landing a "job" so quickly that they didn't press her to finish her masters, maybe if they had, they would still be alive.
The night her parents were murdered changed her. The guilt of knowing it was her fault stared at her with unfeeling eyes. She should have known she was being watched, the job she was doing was too high profile to just assume they hadn't found her, so when she took a bus home for Thanksgiving, they followed. It should have scared her, should have made her walk away from the profession she had chosen. Something slipped out of place that night, a piece that made her who she was. True she wasn't exactly a model citizen but her soul had been clean. Taking hand to hand combat classes was step one, step two was incorporating the weight of her father's ka-bar. It took a couple years for that piece of herself to slip back in place, but it didn't stay there. She was still her, still Adie, but when she was working, she was Raven.
(Her birth parent SL is open, mother/father/sister/brother ect.)
