"Interview Adie Carrion/Patrick Pierce" Part 1
Patrick J. Pierce IV ::The call had been made nearly a week ago. After the last time their network had been breached and malicious programs had been installed Patrick wanted the Tech Security Firm they had hired removed from their duties. No doubt their appointment came several years ago as a Quid Pro Quo issue authorized by his Predecessor while he was still in college. Incompetence was an understatement when speaking of the group of Cyber-Jerks that made up the now former security provider. So last week through various outlets the rumor that was hinted at was announced officially. The idea came to Patrick, and while not overly original remained a bold move for a company as large as Pierce Inc. Hire a Hacker to stop other hackers. Since someone could not openly announce on a job description "Hacking skills preferred" they added floury words to subtly hint at the idea. Patrick once again looked over the Job Posting that had snaked it's way through various Programmer and Networking forums.::~ Pierce Inc Programing Security Specialist Wanted: Must be detail oriented, able to multitask, experience with Network Security and Potential Malicious Programs. Criminal Record not objected to.~::Obviously the last part was overly blatant. Pierce Inc wanted to get into the Hacking game, and with a company that offered the resources Pierce Inc offered the applications poured in. It took days to whittle down the potential candidates and now Patrick sat in his office his large arms folded over his chest as he waited for the next applicant. He had already Interviewed five others today finding flaws in their attributes so looking to the door he hoped his recruiter had saved the best for last. His cold glacial gaze resting on the large double doors that his secretary would no doubt be opening to lead the next Interviewee to the proverbial "Chopping block".:: (d)
Adie Carrion ::It had only been a couple weeks since she left L.A. and already her funds where running low, not that she couldn't fix that with some effort using her skills, but it was risky to tamper with the bank, so she tried to avoid it if she could. Once settled into her new apartment, she decided it was time to find work. Sure she had contacts, it would have been stupid of her to move to the other side of the country without them, but she wanted things to cool off for a bit, letting "Raven" have some much needed time out of the criminal spotlight. Going through forum after forum, she couldn't help but notice the add from Pierce Inc. and what they implied. So, here she was, sitting in the waiting room watching as other hopefuls left, one by one. Most notably was the look of relaxation once they stepped out of the office. Eyeing them up and down, she felt severely under dressed, while most wore suits and or crisp attire, she lounged in ripped faded jeans, a black tank top, rainbow belt, purple chucks and an array of multi-colored bangles worn on both wrists. Did she look as if she had her bachelors from MIT? Far from it but she wasn't going to play dress up for anyone, not even this Pierce guy. As the last hopeful left, the secretary glanced her way and told her to go on in. Shouldering her rather heavy looking laptop bag, she pushed up and made her way on in. She wasn't new to this game, she didn't let her eyes wander the office, nor did her expression change one bit. Instead, she walked directly towards him and took her seat. Though she may give off the appearance of indifference, she took in every detail, calculating and storing it away. Same went for the man before her, every detail of his face and posture, his expression and body language. He gave off an air of entailment, a man used to getting his way and someone who you want to be on their good side. Yes, all this was taken in and stored, only then offering a smile:: So, your ad says you need a hacker. -fin- Patrick J. Pierce IV ::If she would look about the expansive room she would see the prototypical Executive's office. Perhaps abit more chic than his more conservative name and demeanor offered but elegant no doubt. His large glass and steel desk positioned with his back to the Upper West Side New York Skyline Central Park easily seen in the distance. The man behind the desk, seemed to dominate the large office and elaborate view. Indeed unless you were totally ignorant to the business media over the past few years his face was quite familiar. Having graced the cover of Forbes nearly half a dozen times, Finance Quarterly, Businessman Monthly, and named near the top of People's Most Eligible Bachelors List over the last 3 years. Yes much like the Pierce Family itself Patrick was an American Icon. Dressed in a simple walnut brown english cut suit, with a gray vest beneath. A classic three piece suit to say the least. His strongly jawed face sporting a light stubble his deep ocean blue gaze resting on the woman who came into the room a brow arched slightly at her. Well what have we here? Despite her obvious good looks (That's an understatement!) she was dressed far more simply and casual compared to the others whom he had interviewed. If anything Patrick approved of her boldness. In his experience a Hacker is in many ways a loner and individual. The men who came in to interview in their ill fitting and awkwardly worn JC Penny's off the rack suits were in a way kind of pathetic in Patrick's eyes. Afterall they needed skills not fashion sense. So motioning to the seat across from him before he could offer the seat she sat and boldly spoke. A soft laugh offered as Patrick laced the fingers of both hands together steepling his pointer fingers. His voice a strong rich baritone holding a smooth region neutral accent.::~A hacker? Now you know Hacking is illegal and quite frowned upon in the modern business world.~::A smile and playful wink offered to her before he continued his hands moving with his enunciation.::~No no Miss...~::He checked her application.::~Carrion... No we are looking to protect ourselves from hackers, and taking a page from many different security firms who specialize in Burglary prevention and use rehabilitated thief's to advise their clients. Who better to use to defend ourselves against Hackers than a Former Hacker?~::He used the word former very loosely. He picked up her application and resume skimming it slowly nods given in approval to some of her qualifications.::~Before I get too deep into all this I wanna know first and foremost. Why do you want to work for Pierce Inc?~::It was an honest question. A woman that Adie obviously seemed to be was not the type to work for a large faceless corporation that all to often treaded on the rights of people like her for it's enrichment.:: (d)
Adie Carrion ::Though it may not look like she noticed the large expanse of office, she did indirectly. She was actually quite surprised at the clean modern decor verses some of the others she had seen, then again, this man wasn't some old fat cat executive or ranking mob boss. She already started to form an opinion of this man, but not the kind that had her walking out...yet. His attempt to mask the fact that he needed a hacked amused her enough to let out a light chuckle under her breath as she listened. She knew the game and what he was describing was all too familiar to her. This wasn't the first time she had found a job like this one, in fact her last job was doing something similar, only that company didn't mask things with pretty words to sound like a more upstanding citizen. His question pulled her back into focus and she thought it over for a moment. Did she make up some story of a little fish in a big city blah blah blah bullshit or did she speak frankly. Eyeing him again briefly, she decided the later would be best with him.:: Frankly, I don't care for these big money hungry corporations, but, I need to lay low, and the best way for me to do that and pull in money is working for the man. Just got to the city and from what I can tell, you are a pretty big apple tree. And let's be honest, whoever you have been using to protect your ass has been doing a piss poor job of it in the cyber world. In fact, go into your financial folder, the locked one, and open the second folder three rows down. ::It was a bold move, there was no denying that. For one, he could have her thrown in jail as well as any other number of things, but she wanted the job, what better way to show that then so prove what she could do first hand. If he does as she says and opens that last folder, his screen would go into screen saver mode with what appeared to be ravens flying at him. the quality of the animation was far from armature it was meant to get a point across and hopefully not piss him off too terribly.:: Don't worry, I'm not stupid enough to go fishing around what you have, frankly I don't care, I just wanted to prove that I'm the real deal and exactly what you need. -fin-
