Thalia Deacon hardly ever made it a habit of leaving her four month old twins but tonight, it was one of those nights that demanded it. Not because she wanted to be away from them, but because.. well it was her nature. And with Claudia having moved to NYC with the Deacon's she felt it warranted a little.. girl time. Girl time which meant Thalia had paid her handsomely [even though her sister-in-law hadn't demanded payment] for half of what she currently wore. Kisses were passed along to both twins before they were put down to bed. The husband was given attention and a few reassuring words that she'd leave her phone on, before she ducked out of the house, striking out for a night in the city. Granted Thalia Deacon hated New York City with it's crowds, and the smell, and the hectic buzz - however it didn't mean her best friend hadn't pulled a few summers working in the city.
"You know, Ems, we could always take the car. It's like a thousand miles to wherever it is you're going!" She grunted, tugging on the knee length light khaki coat she wore over the repurposed Armani jacket turned skirt that clung to her stocking hugged legs. Tucked into the skirt with it's red belt that had at one time in it's life been a tie - was another purloined item from her husband, an insanely overpriced [yet deliciously cozy white dress shirt] white dress shirt. "Seriously. Had I known you had intended to walk I wouldn't have worn these." She bounced on one foot for a moment, flashing a single black and red soled Louboutin heel at the woman who walked next to her.
A moment later she grunted at the sudden wedge of a brown fedora onto her head and glared at the brunette for a moment before adjusting it. Christ, she was a walking poster board for her husbands clothes tonight but oddly, it seemed to work for the ginger as she strode arm in arm with one of her best friends. The vibration at her hip however pulled her gaze down and she peered at the text, red nails flashing as she responded to the text then tucked the engraved white iPhone five back into her pocket. Though anyone looking at it wouldn't have known the phone was either white, or engraved what with the personalized Hufflepuff case.
Sure to others it might have been silly to see a grown woman with a personal bank account well into the six digits with a lowly, and to some childish case, but she didn't care. Besides the subtle case generally hid what it was - a matte black case with slight rubberization with an engraved gold outline of a badger and shield though emblazoned across the top was HUFFLEPUFF and nearest the bottom THALIA DEACON. Dangling from the upper corner were three small charms, a tiny gold feather, a tiny gold wand, and a small Hufflepuff shield.
"Ems, where a..." Only she paused when the woman she was with stopped at a corner and waved a taxi to a stop and ducked in when the door opened. As for the address that was given, it sounded like any other to her and she fell silent, slumping back into the seat, thumbs flying once more over the touch screen and only when the taxi pull to a stop did she finally crawl out only to make a face. "Emilia, what the good fuck is this?" She muttered, glaring at her friend. "A kareoke bar? Seriously? You know I don't sing in public."
