When asked why he refuses to make clothes for larger women, Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Michael Jeffries responded:
"In every school, there are the cool and popular kids and then there are the not so cool kids. WE go after the cool kids. We go after the attractive all-American kid with a great attitude and a lot of friends. A lot of people don't belong in our clothes, and THEY CAN'T BELONG. Are we exclusionary? Absolutely.
That's why we hire good-looking people in our stores. Because good looking people attract other good looking people, and we want to market to cool good looking people. We don't market to people other than that."

My thoughts are this: With all the so-called, attractive cool looking popular kids out there in the world...90% of them are feeling insecure about themselves. Many of these people are suffering from low-self esteem. When the average women's size is a 14, and women are at the level of wanting to starve themselves to death in order to fit into these clothes, and feel a sense of defeat over failed diets and exercises in order to feel better about themselves because the standard on the media is portrayed by rain thin models that look nothing like everyday, plain, non-attractive, non-cool, and non-popular people--how can this guy utter such stupidity? I think I'm going to keep my money in my pocket and pass A&F by-- Aeropostale and Hollister have been on the bandwagon in having sizes for "real women" for a long time now. I'd rather spend my cash there.
Oh and btw....doesn't he resemble the orc from LOTR? LOL. Talk about attractive.
Dude should so not be talking about attractive people. And yes he does bear a resemblance.
Hahaha. I saw that pic on Tumblr and about died laughing. I just had to share it. That man is one of the reasons women and even some men wind up on the psych ward being treated for bulimia and anorexia. Shame on him.
